“Davo” Pittman Retires From Thompson Power

Davo Pirttman photoDavid Pittman, known by all as “Davo”, retired from Thompson Power on June 30, after over four decades with Thompson and its predecessor company in the Mississippi Delta.

Hired initially into the Stribling-Clements Company in June 1973, Davo joined Thompson Machinery in 1988 as the company expanded. He retires with over 43 years of service to the company.  Working his entire career within the Marine Engine sales field, Davo has been responsible, almost single-handedly, for the growth of our engine business within the Marine industry.

Prior to joining us, Davo also served our country as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1969 through 1972, completing his service as a Hydraulics Work Center Supervisor.  Interestingly, before the Navy found Davo, he worked for a time as Chief Engineer aboard a yacht in the Virgin Islands, and his employment history included a short stint after high school as a cook’s helper at Disneyland in California.  Davo was born and raised in Greenwood, Mississippi and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering and Business from Mississippi State University.

All of us at Thompson thank Davo for his years of hard work and dedication, and wish him all the best in his retirement.
