Thompson Supports The Fight Against Breast Cancer

Thompson Machinery has partnered with Wright Construction Company, along with other local businesses, to launch #CatchUsInPink during the month of October in support of the Susan G. Komen Fight Against Breast Cancer.  Susan G. Komen is one of the main organizations that addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy initiatives in order to make the biggest impact against the disease.

Did you know?

• 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer in their lifetime.
• If detected early, the 5 year survival rate is 99%.
• Men get breast cancer, too.
• Breast cancer is not found in the Emergency Room until it’s almost too late.
• Breast cancer affects all ages, all races and all income levels.
• In 2017, it’s estimated that among U.S. women there will be:
  –252,710 new cases of invasive breast cancer
  –40,610 breast cancer deaths

• Race for the Cure – There are two upcoming “Race for the Cure” events in Thompson’s territory (Memphis and Nashville) led by the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  We encourage everyone to participate at one of your local events. (See the event schedule below.)

Thompson Machinery has provided #CatchUsInPink T-shirts to all its employees (service technicians are receiving pink ribbons to pin to their shirts), and have encouraged Thompson Team members to wear their T-shirts every Friday during the month of October.
