JOB PROFILE
As an Equipment Market and Pricing Analyst at Thompson Machinery, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our pricing strategies and market positioning. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth analyses of heavy equipment evaluations as well as markets and pricing trends. Your insights and recommendations will directly impact our pricing decisions and overall business strategy.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Required experience and knowledge within Microsoft Office Suite.
- Prefer related industry knowledge and experience: i.e., on-road/off-road trucking, automotive, etc.
- OEM dealer experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of data analytics software preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Mac Numbers.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of industry-specific market trends is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Used Equipment Evaluations: Perform assessments to accurately ascertain a used machine’s current market value based off various data points.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of equipment markets, including supply and demand dynamics, market trends, and competitive landscapes.
- Pricing Strategy: Develop and refine pricing strategies for our equipment products based on market data and analysis.
- Competitor Analysis: Monitor and analyze competitor pricing strategies, product offerings, and market positioning to identify opportunities and threats.
- Data Collection: Gather relevant data from various sources, including industry reports, market intelligence, and internal data sources.
- Forecasting: Utilize data-driven models to forecast market trends, demand patterns, and pricing fluctuations.
- Recommendations: Provide actionable recommendations to senior management on pricing adjustments, product positioning, and market strategies.
- Performance Tracking: Track the performance of pricing strategies and provide reporting on pricing effectiveness.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product development teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives.

- Keep the Manager continually apprised to assist in answering customer questions and problems when necessary.
