“JSJ Construction is just a small family group, a company who started from the ground up.”
Building Up a Family
James Rich had been working in the construction business for some time before deciding that his family needed a change of pace. He had initially worked for a different company, but the constant travelling made life difficult as his children were growing up and having children of their own. It was in 2011 that he decided to make that change. With the help of James’ sons and his son’s brother-in-law, JSJ Construction Company began operating in the Nashville area. “A lot of people say, you know, family can’t work together,” starts Rich’s son who has been working at JSJ since he graduated high school, “but I think we’re different.” Past doing quality work, the Rich family puts an emphasis on building relationships. “We build not just a work zone, but a family relationship in work.” They want each person they work with, whether that person is a member of their team or a customer, to feel like family.
Building with Efficiency and Quality
One of their most recent projects had the employees of JSJ Construction Company in the middle of Nashville working on water lines for the city. An important part of doing work for the city is making sure things get done safely and efficiently. With the area being so highly populated, JSJ has to make an effort to not only protect their employees and the people in the area, but they also have to make sure that the work they do will be high quality so that it lasts for years to come and gets the community into working order again. Creating good relationships with the municipalities they work with is a big part of being able to build with efficiency and quality according to James Rich. “The relationship with the utility districts, helping them to feel comfortable around us, is an important part of every job. We want to work with the municipalities to give them the best product for the cheapest price, and we want them to know that we will do a good job for them when we are hired.”
Getting the Job Done Right
Since their start in 2011, JSJ Construction has been able to do a lot of good work within their community. They know what it’s like to build something from the ground up, so they’ve made sure that their work will last for years to come and leave behind a legacy for future generations. Past the water, sewer, and storm water work they have done, JSJ Construction has also had the opportunity to support a local football team in their area. “Getting the community bigger is great. It’s helping the community grow in the right way. Making it bigger, stronger, and helping everyone feel like apart of one another.” Their dedication to quality is evident in their work and how they construct with character and build with integrity.
