On May 23 and 24, Thompson held a Technology Showcase event at our LaVergne store, where customers could operate the Cat® 323F Hydraulic Excavator equipped with Cat GRADE with Assist, and the Cat D6N Dozer with slope assist. Both systems are integrated from the factory with neither requiring a base station or GPS to function.
Cat GRADE with Assist builds on the base system’s guidance capabilities, adding control technologies that automate boom and bucket movements. Operators using this feature can reach target grade up to 45% faster than those using manual processes.
Cat Slope Assist makes grading easy by automatically holding blade angles without any external laser or GPS reference. Slope Assist is available as an option on the D3K2-D5K2 dozers. It is standard on the D6K2 and D6N dozers, and will soon be standard on the D6T.
