Job Description:  Data Engineer
 
Location: On-site in Lavergne, Tennessee.
 
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. Your expertise in SSIS, SQL programming, and scripting will be crucial in developing our data integration pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting various data-driven initiatives within our organization. The Data Engineer will work with internal teams and external organizations to move data reliably, quickly, and securely among internal and external systems to help the company achieve its vision “To be the best Cat dealer, Period.”
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scripts and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages to efficiently move data sets among internal and external systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Where necessary, create and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Implement data cleansing, transformation, and validation rules when needed to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of integration processes.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of integration processes to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices and recommend new methods and technologies to improve the organization’s integration processes.
  • Strong understanding of the SQL language beyond simple SELECT, UPDATE, and INSERT. Ability to create tables, views, schema, stored procedures, and dynamic SQL.
  • Experience in calling REST APIs to retrieve and post data – especially with JSON.
  • Experience using FTP, SFTP, and SSH to send and receive data.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and experience in designing and developing database load/update processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability and desire to share knowledge, approaches, and experience with team members.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience designing integration pipelines leveraging SSIS, scripting languages (e.g., Python, Powershell, etc.), and other tools. Experience developing integration jobs with SSH or FTP/SFTP critical.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Working knowledge of at least one scripting language, such as PowerShell, Python, etc.
 
Preferred knowledge, skills, or abilities:
  • Experience with Kingswaysoft tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of at least one RPA tool desired (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate, Automation Anywhere, UiPath, etc.). Microsoft Power Automate is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dataverse desired

  • Meet all eligibility requirements to drive Company vehicles, including a current, valid driver’s license issued by the resident State, and maintain current motor vehicle liability insurance.
Physical Requirements
  • Pass pre-employment background check, physical exam including drug screen, and meet all physical requirements for the position.
  • Able to lift 20-50 pounds occasionally.
