“When you get to share your work with your family, it’s a great feeling.”
Seeing a Need
Mid-Tenn Construction came from humble beginnings. Starting out in 2014 with only five workers and three machines, they have always known the value of doing good work and getting the job done. When they see a need, they always make an effort to make sure that the need is met. “Our guys are able to do every piece of the job…they’re real good at making sure they’re thinking ahead for the next task…” Since 2014 they’ve had the opportunity to grow, and that hard work and dedication to detail has carried on.
Rooted in Community
One of the best parts of working in this industry, according to Jeff, is the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on his community. “I’m definitely glad to be a piece of the growth in this community. I know we’re not the biggest piece of it but we enjoy having our little aspect and producing good products for those clients.” His other favorite is the opportunity to share his work with his family. “One of the most fun things is to go through these communities,” he begins. “You can say, ‘I did that, I took a hand in that,’ and when these products look really good at the end, you can share that with your family. It’s a great feeling.”
Raising Up the Next Generation
Family is incredibly important to Mid-Tenn Construction, and that is seen at the very top with Jeff and his family. From the oldest to the youngest, the Nesbit family can often be seen on the job site getting to work. “My son is definitely wanting to be a ‘worker’ as he says. And everyday he’s waiting and chomping at the bit to get after that. My daughter can come out here and she can run a skid [steer] with the best of them, and I plan on having her keep on moving up on the size of equipment the same way I did.”
