Wheel dozers are popular utility machines that enhance efficiency and safety in various industries. Thompson Machinery is a leading Cat® equipment dealer serving middle and western Tennessee and north Mississippi, and we are here to help you find the right wheel dozer for your project needs.
Common Uses for Wheel Dozers
With their heavy blade design, wheel dozers are robust and versatile machines. In addition to their demanding work abilities, these dozers have wheels for efficient travel between multiple sites. You may need a wheel dozer for various applications — the most common being:
- Surface mining: Wheel dozers are ideal for surface mining, making the process much quicker and more productive in one sweep. The heavy blade can be adjusted to dig into the ground, pushing away the terrain to reveal minerals under the surface.
- Road maintenance: These utility machines are often seen in road construction and maintenance areas. Wheel dozers are useful for shallow digging and carrying material over short distances in this environment. They can also spread soil from dump trucks and remove trees, stumps and boulders in the way.
- Cleanup: Wheel dozers are ideal for quick and easy cleanup in any industry, especially for heavy materials. They can push rubble out of the way or carry it a short distance to a junk pile.
