Ed Arrington Retires From Thompson Machinery

ed-arringtonAfter almost 38 years of loyal and dedicated service to Thompson Machinery, Ed Arrington retired from the company on December 31, 2016.

Ed began his career with Taylor Machinery Company in January, 1979 after serving the country for seven years in the U.S. Navy, where he completed his service as a Petty Officer and Instructor specializing in Aviation Hydraulics and Aircraft Maintenance.  Ed transitioned from Navy aviation equipment to Caterpillar earthmoving equipment as a Specialist A in the Specialization Shop at the Memphis store, and with his strong background in hydraulic systems and repair, became one of the company’s best transmission and pump rebuild experts.  He quickly rose to Master Mechanic, established himself as one of the company’s most talented hydraulic specialists, and began to develop training programs to instruct new technicians.  His supervisors soon recognized his background and ability to train, and promoted him into the Training department as Technical Trainer.

Most of our technicians have benefitted at one time or another from Ed’s instruction and guidance as he led training courses and coached employees to be skilled shop and field service mechanics.  Ed’s positive attitude, dependability and willingness to help our employees and customer have made him a tremendous asset to Thompson Machinery, and his experience and advice will be missed.

Please join us in congratulating Ed and wishing he and his wife, Rosemary the best as they move into this new chapter in their lives.
