Heritage Day Car Show in Iuka, Mississippi

car-show-photo-1Fins, chrome, and bright colors were the order of the day at the Heritage Day Car Show, held in Iuka, MS during the Labor Day weekend.

Heritage Day is Iuka’s annual festival, and the Car Show is one of its highlights.  This year’s event proved to be the biggest yet, with a record 225 entries from four states.  The festival and carcar-show-photo-4 show bring thousands of visitors to Iuka each year.

Thompson Machinery was one of the sponsors of this year’s show – with a booth hosted by Product Support Sales Representative Donnie Cain.  A CAT mini-excavator and skid steer loader were on display. As a sponsor, Thompson also had the opportunity to present one of the “Best In Show” car-show-photo-2trophies to a Car Show entrant.  Our pick was a slick-looking, somewhat rare 1953 Chevrolet station wagon (shown above).

The event is hosted by Wheels of Northeast Mississippi – funds earned from the car show and other events are used to sponsor local high school scholarships and make donations to the American Cancer Society, Boys & Girls Club, and other charities.
