Long-time Thompson Power employee Steve Olson retired at the end of June after nearly 35 years of service with the company.
Steve joined Taylor Machinery Company in May 1982, prior to Thompson Machinery acquiring the company in 1987, beginning work initially as a Fleet Service Manager with responsibility for service of customer truck fleets, particularly the Coca-Cola distributor in the Memphis area. He was promoted to Truck Engine Account Manager and has been Project Manager for the Thompson Power group since 2008.
Prior to joining the company, Steve worked as Systems Equipment Division Manager for Wurzburg Brothers, a packaging and distribution company, and also as Distribution Sales/Service Manager with Carrier Transicold, a refrigeration system product for the trucking industry, both located in Memphis. Steve proudly served our country from 1965 through 1976 as a member of the U.S. Army Special Forces, ending his career as a Command Staff Officer. Raised in Pennsylvania, Steve graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York with a degree in General Engineering.
A loyal, dedicated, and hard-working employee, Steve will be sorely missed. His fellow Thompson employees wish him all the best as he begins this new phase of his life.
